Security Officer Armed FLEX Part Time

About the role

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol FLEX in the Greater Wilkes-Barre, PA area, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries, such as Government Buildings and Properties. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols throughout the site/s that you're assigned to. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to all individuals on site. This position requires Act 235 qualification, as it is an armed post.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site
• Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
• Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons
• Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
• Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary

Requirements

• Must be able and willing to travel up to an hour from the greater Wilkes-Barre area to cover multiple sites
• This is a scheduled as needed position, but is a great opportunity for future full-time opportunities
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
• Must have an active Act 235 Qualification - in Pennsylvania only
• Must have a PA Concealed Carry Weapons permit
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have 3+ years combined of Armed Security / Law Enforcement / Corrections / Military experience or the equivalent or a College Degree
• Must have the ability to Pass a Physical that includes: push-ups, sit-ups and a cardiovascular related stress test
• Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Any unpaid, unsettled or disputed Federal Taxes or Federal Loans WILL disqualify
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
