Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, public areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials where required, and observe visitor movement around restricted and public areas to help to deter policy violations and protect valuable collections and property.
• Support opening and closing activities, assist with crowd and queue management during events and peak attendance periods, and report maintenance, life-threatening, and/or security-related issues to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• An armed guard card/license is required.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
