About the role
As an Armed Emergency Response Patrol Security Officer in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to situations. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and team members, and support a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas.
- Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions to deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
- Complete required reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
