Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local law enforcement as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry points and screening areas, verify access permissions, and assist with the inspection of persons and/or property in accordance with site procedures and applicable post orders.
• Support restricted area access control, maintain a visible presence, and complete required reports, logs, and other records related to daily security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• An armed guard card and/or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
