Security Officer Armed Access Operations

About the role
Join Allied Universal in an armed access control role at a government location, where you will verify credentials, manage entry points, monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Deliver professional customer service and clear communication while supporting an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first, works together, and acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, and permit entry to authorized employees, visitors, and/or vendors.
- Maintain visitor logs, issue temporary access credentials, and provide directions and assistance to individuals entering the location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting and reporting security-related concerns according to established procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
Requirements
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
