Security Officer Alarm Systems Operator

About the role

As a Security Officer Alarm Systems Operator in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including business areas, entry points, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and site conditions; report security-related concerns, hazards, and unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
• Support a professional environment by maintaining accurate activity logs, completing required reports, and communicating clearly with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Skills

• Security-related experience.
