Security Officer | 3rd Shift
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we should have sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Qualifications, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Possibly also Requirements? But we have Qualifications section includes Required Education & Certifications, Preferred Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities. Could split into Requirements and Qualifications? The instruction says we can use those headings if content exists. We have qualifications details. Could put them under Qualifications. Could also have Requirements (maybe required education & certifications) and Skills (knowledge, skills, abilities). But better to keep few substantive sections. Let's decide: About the role (intro paragraph about role), Responsibilities (What You'll Do with bullet points), Qualifications (Required Education & Certifications, Preferred Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities), Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to extract schedule: "This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year position. Because safety is a 24/7 priority, flexibility in working hours is required, including weekends and some holidays. This role is 3rd shift (12am - 8am)". Also later: "Expected Hours Of Work Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position." There's some duplication. We'll summarize schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, 12 months/year; 3rd shift (12am-8am); flexibility required including weekends and some holidays. Pay: "$23.80-$23.95 per hour". Benefits: "Bethel is committed to offering meaningful benefits to our employees including health insurance, retirement plans, and a generous time off package. Learn more about these offerings here." Also maybe mention diversity? Not needed. We must not include boilerplate like EEO, visa sponsorship, remote work restrictions, etc. Also remove duplicated lines. We must preserve all substantive information. That includes the description of Bethel University at start? That is about the organization, not the role. Might be considered substantive but not required per sections. Could we include it under About the role? The About the role section currently starts with "Join our Office of Safety & Security team as a Staff Security Officer." That's from posting. The earlier paragraph about Bethel University is separate. Should we include it? The instruction: "Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail." So we need to include that description somewhere. Could be a preceding paragraph before sections, not a heading. Since we cannot add arbitrary headings not listed, we can just put a
before the first heading containing that description. That's allowed: we can have prose
elements anywhere. So we will include a
with the Bethel University description. Also need to include the mission statement about Christ-centered etc? That appears later under "Additional Responsibilities". That's substantive. Should we include that? It's about Bethel's mission and expectations. Could be placed under About the role or maybe a separate section like "Mission & Expectations". But we only have allowed headings list; we could add a section like "About the role" already covers some. But we could incorporate that paragraph into About the role as additional prose. However we must not invent headings; we can just add a
under About the role after the heading. Thus structure:

About the role
Join our Office of Safety & Security team as a Staff Security Officer. In this role, you'll do more than just patrol our physical campus; you will play a vital part in Bethel’s mission to educate and equip students in a Christ-centered community. As a member of our staff, you serve as a minister of the gospel by fostering a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where students, faculty, staff, and guests can grow and thrive. Reporting to the Manager of Security Operations, you'll carry out the day-to-day responsibilities of maintaining a secure campus presence. You'll support university community members, respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls, and utilize quick decision-making skills to support campus partners in creating a safe environment. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year position. Because safety is a 24/7 priority, flexibility in working hours is required, including weekends and some holidays. This role is 3rd shift (12am - 8am) & the pay range is $23.80-$23.95 per hour
But we need separate Pay and Schedule sections per instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." However they said include a section ONLY when posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text. So we should include Pay and Schedule sections only if they have specific content. They do: Pay range given; schedule details given. So we should have separate sections for Pay and Schedule. However we already included pay and schedule in About the role paragraph; we should move them to respective sections and not duplicate. Thus About the role paragraph should exclude pay and schedule details. We'll keep About the role focusing on role description. Then:Pay
The pay range is $23.80-$23.95 per hour.
