Security Officer ($19.00/HR) - Mehoopany, PA

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors assigned areas, including roving inside the facilities, roving in a vehicle, and other locations.
• Ensures safety and compliance by observing actions and those of others.
• Verbalizes de-escalation techniques to maintain safety.
• Examines and secures doors, windows, and other areas.
• Reports and records data related to property damage, unusual occurrences, etc.
• Handles logistics for incoming and outgoing traffic.
• Warns and apprehends violators of rules.
• Notifies individuals about visitors.
• Assists in emergency response and disaster management.
• Performs routine input or monitoring of safety and life support computer programs.
• Checks and records ID badges.
• Monitors and operates various safety and life support systems.
• Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not met.
• Performs other pertinent duties to support department or unit success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years preferred.
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Ability to make decisions independently with little supervision.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.
• Safety orientation required due to the nature of the position.
