Security Officer 1 - Sharp Tri-City Medical Center - Day Shift - Full Time

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing reasonable protection and security to the Medical Center, the employees, patients, medical staff and visitors and to their property from accident, damage, theft and trespassing.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
• Perform duties in a manner that provides protection to the Medical Center, the employees, patients, visitors and medical staff and their property by identifying high-risk persons, unsafe behavior, contraband objects as well as using immediate verbal or physical interventions to uphold a safe environment.
• Will uphold and maintain a secured environment by observing identification badges, unsecured doors, trip/fall hazards and adhering to safety procedures.
• Assist with the inventory, transferring, housing and retrieval of assets within the medical center.
• Assist with security officer orientation, as needed.
• Complies with the established schedule of the Security department as well as unscheduled mandatory overtime, when needed, in order to maintain safe staffing levels.
• Responsible to maintain departmental equipment.
• Consistently demonstrate an understanding of departmental documentation standards and completing report investigations in a timely manner.
• Follows established policy and procedures in all situations.
• Maintains all unit specific and educational requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• 2 Years police or security related experience or college related courses in the area of Security, Criminology or Management (Preferred)
• BSIS Guard Card, required within 90 days of hire (Required)
• NVCI Training within 90 days of hire or transfer (Required)

Schedule

• Shift Start Time: 6 AM
• Shift End Time: 2:30 PM
• AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift
• Weekend Requirements: As Needed
• On-Call Required: No

Pay

Flat Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.000
