Security Officer 1 - Sharp Tri-City Medical Center - Night Shift - Full Time

Shift: 9:30 PM – 6 AM (8-hour shift, 40 hours per week). Weekend work as needed. No on-call required.

Pay

Flat hourly rate: $25.00.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection and security for the Medical Center, employees, patients, medical staff, visitors, and their property from accidents, damage, theft, and trespassing.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment, including adherence to unit-based safety and infection control requirements.
• Identify high-risk individuals, unsafe behavior, and contraband objects; use verbal or physical interventions to uphold safety.
• Uphold a secured environment by monitoring identification badges, unsecured doors, trip/fall hazards, and following safety procedures.
• Assist with inventory, transferring, housing, and retrieval of assets within the medical center.
• Support security officer orientation as needed.
• Comply with scheduled shifts and unscheduled mandatory overtime to maintain safe staffing levels.
• Maintain and manage departmental equipment.
• Complete departmental documentation and report investigations in a timely manner.
• Follow established policies and procedures in all situations.
• Maintain all unit-specific and educational requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• BSIS Guard Card (required within 90 days of hire).
• NVCI Training (required within 90 days of hire or transfer).

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of police or security-related experience.
• College coursework in Security, Criminology, or Management.
