Security Monitor
Position Summary
The Security Monitor provides security for school buildings property to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Emergency Management and School Safety, and under the guidance of building administration, the Security Monitor patrols school buildings and property, monitors student behavior, implements appropriate procedures, directs traffic flow and parking usage. The Security Monitor responds to emergencies, intervenes in conflicts, and works with their supervisor and building administration to direct students and staff in crisis situations.
Education And Experience Requirements
- An Associate's Degree is required.
- Postsecondary coursework in criminal justice, education, youth development, or behavioral sciences is preferred.
- Experience in school settings working with students.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- Experience supporting diverse student populations.
- Background in security or related fields.
- CPR/First Aid Certifications.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: The wage for this position ranges from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Most candidates will start at the entry-level rate of $23.00 per hour.
- Candidates with prior work experience in a related field may be eligible for a starting rate of up to $23.70 per hour.
- For those with direct experience in this specific role, the starting rate may exceed $23.70 per hour, depending on their qualifications and experience.
