Security Manager, NA

About the Role

This position will be onsite in Santa Clara, California. The Security team is looking for a forward-thinking, results-oriented, innovative Security Manager with the ability to develop, execute, and oversee data center (DC) security operations and programs. You will create and verify compliance with security procedures, training, standards, and policies, while optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of physical security at our facilities. You will champion new initiatives for the security team, oversee planning processes, and collaborate with multiple business partner teams. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of long-term corporate strategy and goals, partnering with the Design and Engineering Team, Site Operations, and Construction Managers.

Responsibilities

• Vendor Management and Maintenance: Manage and coordinate vendor service calls and preventative maintenance inspections.
• Training and Procedures: Train personnel in physical security procedures and equipment usage. Prepare, maintain, and update security policies, procedures, and documentation. Onboard and orient new security hires.
• Security Enforcement and Visitor Management: Enforce safety regulations, direct and escort visitors, maintain order, control access, and enforce traffic regulations.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct physical and camera rounds, schedule patrols, manage security invoices, and generate reports for audits and customer requirements.
• Security Systems Management: Configure security systems, conduct audits, manage access levels, retrieve video footage, and troubleshoot issues. Own the break/fix program and manage technicians.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with other departments during system design, implementation, and commissioning of new buildings. Lead security setup at new sites.
• Conflict Resolution and Multitasking: Resolve on-site conflicts, organize meetings, and present to other teams.
• Technical Support and Spare Parts Management: Provide technical support, maintain spare parts, and troubleshoot equipment and software issues.
• Additional Duties: Handle other tasks as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in a data center or critical infrastructure environment.
• Experience with heavy construction and managing security in dynamic environments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency with security reporting tools and software.
• Solid troubleshooting skills for equipment or software issues.
• Ability to develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Initiative-driven with a focus on achieving results.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of security and safety.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (may increase over time).

Physical Demands

Pay

Salary Range: $120,000 - $132,000 Base + Bonus (based on California market data).
