Security Manager
About the role
Nooks is pioneering CIaaS, designing, building, and operating SCIFs and other secure classified environments for defense and national security. This role involves leading security operations, overseeing a team, and acting as the primary liaison with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of site and program security, ensuring compliance with NISPOM, SCI, and SAP regulations.
Oversee site security operations to maintain consistently high physical security readiness.
Manage security incident response, conducting root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Oversee SCIF and classified space accreditation and risk assessments, preparing and managing DD254s, and evaluating security requirements.
Supervise and mentor the site security team, providing feedback and support.
Represent Nooks on security matters with government and industry partners, and provide technical input to cross-functional teams.
What Success Looks Like
The site passes all annual or short-notice assessments with zero critical findings.
The site security team is stable, well-mentored, and operates with a clear chain of escalation.
Government, defense, and industry partners view you as a trusted point of contact for security matters.
Leadership relies on your risk assessments and strategic recommendations for security program decisions.
Required Skills
At least 9 years of experience in industrial and physical security, with significant time in cleared defense contracting, SCIF, and SAP environments.
Prior experience serving as an FSO or in a similar role.
Deep knowledge of NISPOM, SCI, and SAP requirements.
Demonstrated people-management experience, including supervising and mentoring a team.
Strong executive presence and communication skills.
A track record of driving process improvements and maintaining a balance between speed and security readiness.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting business development or technical sales conversations in a cleared or defense-adjacent environment.
Qualifications
U.S. citizenship and authorization to work in the U.S.
In-scope TS/SCI security clearance eligibility.
Benefits
Salary range: $125,000 USD - $155,000 USD
