About the role
The Security Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Security Department, ensuring the safety of guests, team members, and company assets while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Leading the Security Department, ensuring safety and compliance
- Managing and developing security staff
- Maintaining schedules and labor resources
- Supporting departmental budgeting
- Assisting in the budget process and reporting budget concerns
- Supporting customer service standards and addressing issues
- Responding to medical emergencies and completing Illness/Injury reports
- Reporting and remedying legal/compliance measures
- Developing, enforcing, reviewing, and approving changes to operating practices, procedures, and standards
- Identifying and resolving security-related problems
- Implementing alternative methods for security operation improvement
- Examining and analyzing physical property, processes, and procedures to develop and enforce emergency policies
- Serving as a liaison with gaming regulators, public law enforcement, fire, and other agencies
- Conducting, supervising, and preparing reports related to investigations of losses or violations
- Providing escorts as needed
- Testifying in court when necessary
- Protecting and preserving company assets
- Maintaining strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent
- Five years of casino Security, military, or police experience
- Two years of leadership experience highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
