Security Lead Officer

DK Security is Michigan’s fastest-growing security company. About the Role

This is a billable, uniform capacity position requiring 30–39 hours per week. The role is primarily operational, with the Lead Officer maintaining a personal presence throughout the region. Extensive travel in a personal vehicle is required; mileage is reimbursed at $0.445/mile after the first 50 miles of a one-way trip.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise, and manage subordinates in executing strategies consistent with law, client and company policy, and security standards.
• Oversee training of assigned officers to ensure they carry out all duties outlined in site post guidelines.
• Ensure the appearance, grooming, and physical image of all uniformed security and event staff employees are impeccable.
• Maintain regular communication with the designated client contact, follow through on requests, and update the operations manager.
• Enforce DK’s customer service GIFTS program with all assigned officers.
• Maintain inventory of and report issues with DK and client-owned equipment and uniforms.
• Be available on-call to address subordinate questions and handle unexpected scheduling issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary based on client needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies or disqualifying misdemeanors (e.g., dishonesty, fraud, assault, weapons, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses).
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 8–12 hours at a time, including stairs, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willing to become certified) and capable of administering lifesaving care.
• Must have 20/20 vision (corrected if necessary) and be able to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
• Must be able to use a smartphone or computer for emails and online training.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Skills

No prior experience is required. Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay

$18.61 per hour.

Schedule

• Various days (Monday–Sunday), including weekends.
• 2nd and 3rd shifts available.
