Security Lead

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Security Lead is responsible for overseeing all venue security operations and leading the security team to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and employees. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Security team and Venue Management, maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and guest service. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, excellent judgment, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations while ensuring compliance with all company policies and applicable laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the Security team, ensuring all team members uphold company standards and expectations.
- Cook up with security staff during emergencies and other high-alert situations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Security team and Venue Management.
- Monitor all access points and maintain security throughout the venue.
- Ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees, and company property.
- Verify guest identification and age in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Monitor assigned posts and respond promptly to incidents as they arise.
- De-escalate conflicts using sound judgment and professionalism.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness throughout each shift.
- Communicate weekly staffing needs to Security Management prior to the scheduling deadline.
- Maintain accurate nightly records of third-party security personnel, including names and hours worked, and submit reports to Security Management.
- Complete and submit all necessary incident reports, including NARs and guest incident reports, in a timely manner.
- Notify Venue Management of employee policy violations, performance concerns, or operational issues requiring follow-up.
- Delegate daily assignments and ensure all security positions are properly staffed.
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of guest queue lines and entrance operations.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily expectations, assignments, and operational updates.
- Partner with Venue Management to continuously improve security operations, guest experience, and team performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of security experience in a high-volume nightlife, hospitality, or entertainment environment.
- Previous leadership or security management experience required.
- A valid Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer License (Texas) required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment, and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Experience de-escalating conflicts while maintaining professionalism and excellent guest service.
- Ability to maintain discipline, accountability, and operational standards among security staff.
- Must be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR, First Aid, and self-defense training are a plus.

PAY RANGE:
$25 - $28 per hour
