Security Intelligence Officer - Temporary (Caesars Palace LV)

About the role

The Security Intelligence Center Officer will use company-provided resources to find, research, and assess information that could indicate a potential threat or concern to guests and employees of Caesars Entertainment in the Las Vegas region. This role involves creating detailed reports of tactical, administrative, and strategic intelligence gathered, assessing and analyzing information to mitigate threats, and managing crises. The officer will continually identify, evaluate, and monitor risks affecting business activities and provide business leaders with critical decision-making information. Additionally, the role includes maintaining and utilizing mass notification systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Systemically monitor online open sources and media channels for potential and known threats.
• Maintain comprehensive records of security-related incidents, analyze information, and establish actionable deliverables.
• Receive, evaluate, and disseminate incoming information and reports from Security personnel, field officers, employees, and local agencies.
• Strategically analyze and support tactical open-source monitoring efforts during special events, security incidents, disasters, and other crises that could disrupt business in the Las Vegas region.
• Review, analyze, and escalate open-source intelligence and subscription-based intelligence to mitigate and report global threats to company property, employees, and stakeholders.
• Display original thinking and creativity, meet challenges with resourcefulness, generate suggestions for improving work, and develop innovative approaches to complex problems.
• Utilize and display above-average critical thinking skills in high-stress situations with sometimes undefined processes and procedures.
• Generate easy-to-interpret reports based on collected and analyzed data.
• Serve as the primary center point for disseminating information regarding security-related incidents for the Las Vegas region.
• Assist investigations with detailed intelligence collection regarding persons of interest.
• Perform event vulnerability assessments to reduce risk.
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Maintain and utilize mass notification systems for communicating security-related matters.
• Operate and monitor computer workstations and emergency systems; administer and maintain process control systems and databases used within the Intelligence Center.
• Monitor Caesars Entertainment employees abroad, sending travel advisories and incident notifications during security incidents and crisis events.
• Perform normal primary security officer functions.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Thorough knowledge of accepted Caesars Entertainment Security procedures.
• Good oral and written communication skills along with a good working knowledge of basic computer programs.
• Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming Card, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), and have a current and valid Nevada Driver’s License.
• Investigative and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Understanding of data analysis as it applies to security and other business needs.
• Maintain high organizational oversight to ensure task completion.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Ability to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat over 115 degrees or cold as low as 10 degrees.
• Ability to physically restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists.
• Ability to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads, and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds.
• Ability to see and remember specific details of incidents and persons, give court testimony when necessary, and write detailed reports.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
• Must pass the physical and written testing of the Western Division Security Academy (Controlled Force, Defensive Tactics, Legal Issues, Handcuffing, Tactical Communications, Use of Force, Report Writing, Searching Subjects, Emergency Response, Ethics, and Expandable Baton) within the first ninety days of employment.
• Must re-certify between years 2 and 3 through the Western Division Security Academy and pass all physical, mental, and environmental demands as required.
