Responsibilities

  • Install security systems per provided job scopes and drawings
  • Install and service access control systems
  • Install and service IP based camera systems
  • Install and service alarm systems
  • Work efficiently as a lead technician on the team to install systems
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
  • Effectively communicate equipment issues and potential solutions on work performed to customers
  • Explain and train customers on effective utilization of equipment and/ or systems
  • Efficiently and accurately update and complete customer files, including but not limited to customer contacts, work orders, parts utilized, and work performed
  • Promptly and professionally respond to customer questions and concerns
  • Avoid non-compliance with company and customer safety program
  • Maintain all applicable certifications for necessary products serviced by company
  • Ability to lead, train, mentor and/ or coach less experienced technicians
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 5+ years security technician work experience
  • Commercial experience
  • Able to work flexible hours including after-hours, nights, and weekends
  • Able to travel to multiple job sites each day
  • Fully proficient in alarm, access control and IP camera systems
  • Access control installation and servicing experience
  • Experience with installation of controller, reader, contact, REX and electrified door hardware
  • Commercial alarm system installation & servicing experience – knowledge in Burg, DMP, Honeywell and DSC systems a plus
  • Camera system installation & servicing experience, including network camera systems
  • CAT5/6 network termination skills
  • High precision/ detail-oriented
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision
  • Ability to lead a team on larger jobs
  • Works effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • DMP training
  • IP/Network knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
