Security & Guest Services Manager
About the Role
Provide leadership for all facility and event security operations, guest services activities, admissions, and emergency preparedness initiatives. Develop and implement security programs, procedures, and access control systems to ensure the safety of staff, guests, performers, vendors, and property.
Responsibilities
- Hold monthly safety training programs with the building safety team and upload documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and guest experience.
- Direct, train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate security and guest services staff.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security and life-safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular team meetings, event briefings, and operational updates to communicate priorities and expectations.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings, document discussions and action items, and upload all required safety documentation in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate incident, accident, and safety documentation. Track security and safety metrics and recommend improvements based on trends and findings.
- Manage security scheduling, event security, and traffic control staffing.
- Monitor and maintain life safety systems including surveillance, alarm monitoring, and access control technologies.
- Maintain strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
- Lead staff during emergency response situations and provide clear direction during high-pressure environments.
- Support security and guest services coverage for events, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Assist the Director with updating and maintaining the emergency response plan for facilities.
- Assign and prioritize daily work activities; monitor workflow and staff performance.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively de-escalate conflicts and manage challenging situations in a calm, professional manner.
- Coordinate with event managers, AV, banquets, and other departments to meet event requirements and guest needs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to discern security threats based on information received from law enforcement agencies.
- Prior management experience, including the ability to direct, train, motivate, and evaluate security staff.
- Must be able to provide clear and effective direction to staff in emergency response situations.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as experienced and knowledgeable about security-related IoT.
- Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs.
Skills and Abilities
- Operate a portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, guests, and others.
- Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills required.
