As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Pay & Schedule
- Position Type: Part Time
- Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour
- Job Schedule: DayTime Wed 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM, Fri 11:30 PM - 07:30 AM, Sat 03:30 PM - 11:30 PM
What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a shelter setting.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to the location, verify visitor entry in accordance with site procedures, and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and activity logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
