About the Role

As a Security Guard Temporary Housing in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in temporary housing environments. This part-time, unarmed patrol officer role offers flexibility and the opportunity to build a schedule that works for you using our Claim a Shift platform. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, building entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, assisting with controlled entry and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and shift handoffs.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Comply with licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
