About the role
The Security Guard Lead at Pilgrim’s is responsible for overseeing all security operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and company assets. This position manages facility access control, perimeter security, security personnel, and transportation-related security processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a secure entrance and perimeter for the facility.
- Monitor security operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper access control for employees, visitors, contractors, and transportation personnel.
- Maintain accurate logs for inbound and outbound truck traffic.
- Monitor and document facility activities, security incidents, and unusual occurrences.
- Respond appropriately to security concerns, emergencies, and operational issues.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate Security Guard personnel.
- Learn and maintain working knowledge of all positions within the security department.
- Ensure completion, accuracy, and timely submission of reports prepared by security staff.
- Implement corrective action and disciplinary procedures when necessary, in accordance with company policies.
- Resolve employee conflicts and workplace issues promptly, objectively, and professionally.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Complete daily, weekly, and other required reports.
- Work within the Order Management System (OMS) and Shop Floor systems.
- Cook up and coordinate activities with Plant Shipping, Shag Service, and Traffic departments.
- Coordinate activities with the Traffic Department to coordinate shipping dates, times, and destination locations.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments and external service providers.
- Attend scheduled meetings and provide updates regarding security operations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong computer and 10-key skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security-related experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or distribution environments preferred.
- Multilingual communication skills preferred.
- Experience with transportation, shipping, traffic coordination, or access control systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, run, stand, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to patrol facility grounds and respond quickly to security-related incidents.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate varying terrain.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate security vehicles and equipment as required.
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to hot, cold, wet, and other varying weather conditions.
- Frequent interaction with employees, contractors, visitors, truck drivers, and vendors.
- May require working flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
