Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at transit facilities and bus operations locations.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including bus depots, terminals, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and check credentials as directed, assisting with visitor management and reporting suspicious persons, activity, or conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, transit personnel, and emergency responders as needed.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
