About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as financial institutions. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of business areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
