Security Guard, Part-Time
About the role
This position is responsible for security of the campus, all campus vehicles, residents and staff. Security responsibilities include policing the buildings and grounds, responding to emergencies, checking and securing all security equipment, completing scheduled patrols, monitoring all vehicle traffic, and providing non-emergency residential services.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency call system and notify on-call personnel if necessary.
- Follow designated procedures supporting on-call personnel as required.
- Ensure connection with responding emergency personnel.
- Check and secure all security equipment.
- Complete scheduled patrols of entire campus.
- Check and secure all exterior doors in all buildings.
- Be on alert and challenge all trespassers on campus property.
- Maintain all traffic policies.
- Have knowledge about and be familiar with the entire campus, equipment areas, campus phone system, emergency fire equipment/panels, emergency pendant system, and follow all appropriate procedures.
- Have familiarity with utility shut-off locations and be able to reset HVAC chiller system when not operating.
- Have knowledge about fire detector indicator panel locations and understand shut-off techniques and panel reset procedures.
- Write and distribute appropriate reports for all incidents.
- Report all safety hazards and write appropriate maintenance requests into the WorxHub software program.
- Provide maintenance/housekeeping services at the direction of any leadership staff, on an emergency basis.
- Provide non-emergency residential services that do not conflict with the main security purpose.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Two years experience in security or other related work.
- Current state driver’s license (CDL preferred) and a good driving record.
- First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
- Ability to read and write in English, communicate with other employees and residents, and understand customer service and team building concepts.
- Good observational skills.
- Ability to work under conditions requiring flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions.

Pay
Compensation Pay Range: $16.06 - $20.88 per hour. Reasonable Pay Estimate: A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $16.06 - $20.88 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
