Security Guard, part-time

About the role

The Security Guard, part-time position at Evergreen Health is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. This role involves patrolling and monitoring the premises, responding to security issues, and enforcing safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains order and protects property by circulating among visitors and employees
• Patrols the premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeters
• Enforces security and safety procedures and regulations
• Escorts visitors, patients, and staff out of the building as requested or required
• Maintains surveillance equipment to detect, deter, and report all issues and increase overall safety
• Responds to emergency and crisis situations
• Secures the facility for special programming or agency-sponsored events upon request
• Affirms potential disturbances or dangers and takes appropriate action to reduce threats, including alerting first responders

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least two (2) years experience working in a security role in a healthcare setting
• A current and valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card
• Clear communication skills and professional demeanor
• Reliable transportation to travel between Evergreen locations as needed
• Professionalism and emotional control in emergency situations
• Sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a security role in a healthcare setting
• Three (3) years preferred experience
• NYS Security Guard License
