About the role

Join Gallo's Security team and play an important role in helping protect our people, property, and operations. As a Security Guard 1, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, respond to security-related situations, and provide support during emergencies while delivering exceptional customer service. This entry-level trainee opportunity offers hands-on experience in a professional security environment and a clear path for growth, with encouragement to advance to the Security Guard 2 level after successfully completing required testing.

In this role, you will interact with employees, visitors, and contractors while monitoring vehicle and pedestrian activity, conducting inspections, documenting incidents, and supporting safety and security programs. You will also assist with emergency response activities, maintain compliance with security regulations, and help create a safe and secure environment across company locations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas
• Respond to security-related situations and provide support during emergencies
• Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors
• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian activity
• Conduct inspections and document incidents
• Support safety and security programs
• Assist with emergency response activities
• Maintain compliance with security regulations
• Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (Company Training Provided)
• Complete Taser Training
• Climb stairs and ladders
• Successfully complete a course of instruction to obtain and maintain a Security Officer Registration Certificate from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) within the first week of employment
• Maintain a Security Concealed Weapons permit from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), if required
• Possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire date, a Security Weapons Permit from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
• Travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate
• Knowledge of security systems and equipment in a business environment
• Successfully meet all requirements, including background checks, for the issuance of a Security Officer Registration Certificate from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
• Basic MS Word skills
• Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating shift
• Required to work overtime if necessary
• Valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and reliable vehicle (if applicable)
• Undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving
• Obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire, if needed
• Stand, sit, walk, or drive a vehicle for a minimum of 12 consecutive hours
• Frequently lift, drag, or move up to 50 pounds
• Skilled in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence
• Skilled in speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice
• Skilled in understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Experience in performing duties and tasks that are standardized
• Experience resolving routine questions and problems and referring more complex issues to a supervisor
• Skilled in working independently
• Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Currently possesses a Security Weapons Permit from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
• Currently possesses a Security Officer Registration Certificate from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)

Schedule

• Weekend position, required to work Saturday and Sunday
• Currently scheduled as Swing Shift (4pm-12am), but must be available to work Day, Swing, or Graveyard shift as needed
• Flexibility to backfill hours during the week from time to time

Pay

$20.34 per hour. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position may also be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
