Security Guard - Night Shift (7 on, 7 off)

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Security Guard - Night Shift (7 on, 7 off) to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA. This is an overnight position that will work a modified schedule from 6 pm - 6 am, 7 on, 7 off schedule with a 6 hr. shift on Thursday. 6 hrs on Thursday, 12 hrs Friday - Wednesday, 6 hrs Thursday, and off Friday - Wednesday. The hourly rate for this position is $18.15 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Makes sure the Fibrebond campus is secure by monitoring the campus.
• Fills assigned post orders on a 7-day rotation with 12-hour shifts.
• Patrols all buildings, parking lots, and grounds to ensure security and prevent damage to or loss of company and employee property.
• Completes detailed logs and reports as necessary.
• Provides professional, courteous, and customer service level security to anyone entering the campus, and handles emergencies calmly and professionally.
• Maintains daily logs as instructed by Manager.
• Completes incident reports as needed.
• Performs daily housekeeping of guardhouse.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in security functions or physical access control.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, use good judgement, and be professional.
• Physically fit, mentally alert, and emotionally stable to respond in the event of an emergency.
• Able to sit for long periods of time, walk or stand, and work in all weather conditions.
• Able to work extended shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to drive a vehicle if needed.
• Able to climb stairs or ladder if needed with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Able to patrol in the dark if required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to use a computer without difficulty, and effectively monitor computer-based camera, access control, and alarm systems, with previous knowledge of said systems a plus.
• Able to work 12-hour shift (day or night) on a 7-day rotation and maintain alertness.
