About the role

Reporting to the Inspections or Operations Manager, you will execute processes to ensure the safety of team members, customers, and assets. As the face of ADESA at our gates, you will enforce Inventory Control procedures, utilize ADESA technology, and support vehicle location research. This hourly position may require working various shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises.
  • Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
  • Verify only authorized individuals enter the property.
  • Provide facility directions to customers, vendors, and transporters.
  • Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit the property.
  • Inspect departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
  • Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt, courteous service.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
  • De-escalate difficult situations to maintain positive partnerships.
  • Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unsecured doors.
  • Account for and identify all keys, codes, or other safety and security information.
  • Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers.
  • Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers.
  • Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment.
  • Practice and promote teamwork; set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Maintain strong communication with all auction team members and leaders.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
  • Ability to handle conflict situations positively.
  • Ability to accurately enter data on a handheld device or computer.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Previous security experience preferred.
  • Requires computer data entry skills.
  • Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets requirements.
  • Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes.
  • Requires standing for extended periods.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM (may work some Saturdays; subject to change based on business needs; open availability highly preferred).

Pay

$19–$21 hourly.

Physical Requirements

This role involves light to medium physical work, including:

  • Constant: standing, watching, touching, listening, walking, talking.
  • Frequent: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling.
  • Potential: running, jumping, yelling, or other rapid movements in emergency situations.

Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to clerical, administrative, or machine operator positions. The role is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes, weather, ambient noise, fumes, odors, and dust. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
