Security Guard - Healthcare

About the role

BAART Programs is seeking a respectful, alert, and vigilant Greeter/Patient Care Monitor to maintain the overall safety and order of the clinic facility. This role may also provide backup coverage to the receptionist.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the protection of all employees and patients.
• Verify that each patient entering the building has an I.D.
• Create an orderly waiting line; have patients stand in single file while waiting to receive medication.
• Perform crowd control (ensure patients leave the clinic timely after dosing unless they have an appointment).
• Eliminate loitering and congregating in the parking lot and premises.
• Report critical incidents occurring in the parking lot or on premises.
• Contact and cooperate with local authorities in emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to calls for assistance in preventing interference or disruption of operations (maintain order and control).
• Report and document incidents to the Operations Director and/or Clinic Director whenever trouble or problems occur.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the building, protecting property from damage and destruction.
• Perform security checks of the facility at regular intervals throughout the day.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service training as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain professional attire at all times, including a name badge and identification as a Security Guard.
• Be friendly, courteous, and helpful to all staff, including reception, clinical, and medical teams.
• Provide receptionist coverage as needed.
• Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of prior experience in an office/clinic setting.
• Training from a law enforcement school or other security training is strongly preferred.
• Able to establish a positive rapport with patients and demonstrate a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward chemically dependent individuals.
• Satisfactory drug screen and background check.
