Position Summary
The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration of all people. The Kroc Center Hawaii aims to be a dynamic and flourishing gathering place for diverse community members, where all are welcomed, inspired, and transformed through the love of Christ. The Security Guard role ensures a safe environment for all employees, clients, and visitors by maintaining order, protecting property, and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere.
Essential Functions
- Provide a visual security presence by circulating among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Conduct hourly rounds to monitor facility activity.
- Report problems to the Security Manager.
- Check stairwells, fire exits, mechanical room, and fire extinguishers and pull boxes.
- Under the specific guidance of the Facilities Manager, ensure that all mechanical systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain a shift log.
- Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.
- Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.
- Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.
- Monitor and adjust computerized lighting and timers.
- Control crowds as required.
- Secure the Center’s entrances at the end of operating hours.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Description Of Work Environment
- The employee is regularly exposed to inside and outside work in all types of weather, i.e., wet, and/or humid conditions, heat or cold.

Required Education And Experience
- Current valid State of Hawaii Guard Card.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years’ work experience.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, follow detailed procedures, and have good customer service skills.
