Security Guard- Full Time

The Full-time Security Guard position is on‑site at our Hagerstown, MD facility. The role involves overseeing and enforcing security operations, implementing policies and procedures to maintain security standards, demonstrating excellent surveillance and emergency response skills, and committing to security rules and knowledge of hazards and threats to safety. The goal is to create and preserve a safe environment for employees, visitors, and property.

Working Conditions: This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.

Physical Requirements: This position may require the ability to perform essential functions that include, but are not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation; sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time; using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel, and pick objects (manual dexterity); working with chemicals (e.g., butane, propane, bleach) while following strict safety guidelines; cleaning and maintaining the facility or equipment using approved chemicals; wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including clothing protection, close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear and eye protection.

$21/hr

Schedule

Mon‑Wed 8:30am‑5:00pm; Sat‑Sun 8:00am‑4:30pm

Responsibilities

• Implement security policies, protocols and procedures
• Monitor property entrance, follow entrance and exit protocol for employees and visitors
• Respond to emergencies and alarms, notify appropriate law enforcement and management
• Monitor video surveillance equipment
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property
• Report incidents, breaches, suspicious behaviors, and happenings
• Investigate and resolve issues
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities
• Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner

Requirements

• Proven experience as guard services or similar position
• Current Maryland Guard Card
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
• Experience in reporting and emergency response
• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Committed and reliable
• High School Diploma/GED
• Two years of experience in a comparable position
• Availability to occasionally take weekend shifts
• Polite and professional disposition
• Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be and remain compliant with any and all company regulations
