About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit station in Long Beach, CA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, bus areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help identify and report security-related concerns.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, helping to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and/or suspicious activity.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives regarding incidents, observations, and daily activities.
Requirements
- Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Comply with licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
