Responsibilities
- Examine and become familiar with every part of assigned area; report obstructions or issues that endanger safety.
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent crime, protect company assets, report disturbances, violations, suspicious activity, and assist the public.
- Prepare incident reports in a manner acceptable for outside distribution.
- Dispatch security personnel to key areas via phone and radio communications.
- Provide superior customer service in compliance with Black Bear’s standards.
- Maintain peace and order at all entrances.
- Monitor fire and other safety hazards; evaluate emergency evacuation measures.
- Administer first aid as necessary.
- Report disorderly patrons, accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, employee theft, and unusual behavior.
- Perform traffic control duties when necessary.
- Conduct video surveillance to identify security risks and areas of loss.
- Maintain security video surveillance, phone, and radio communications.
- Notify local law enforcement and medical agencies during emergencies.
- Submit reports to Security Floor Supervisor and Security Manager; ensure supervisors are informed of all situations.
- Patrol the interior of the casino and hotel.
- Prevent unauthorized admittance of alcoholic beverages on premises.
- Protect money areas and executive offices; properly identify employees entering money areas.
- Provide money escort services and maintain crowd control.
- Monitor special activities and maintain radio communications.
- Wear provided department uniform during scheduled work hours.
- Attend mandatory department, Title 31, and/or SARC trainings.
- Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to visitors and co-workers.
- Represent the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa professionally in the community.
- Maintain proper attendance, punctuality, and a clean work area.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- No formal education required.
- Ability to work with the public and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to supervise areas/groups and act responsibly in emergencies (preferred).
- Training in emergency first aid (preferred).
- Previous experience as a Security Officer (preferred).
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships.
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing per Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
- Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restriction.
- Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs and push, pull, or drag up to 50 lbs.
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including noise, dust, and potential smoking environments.
Schedule
Rotating shifts. Operations are conducted seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays.
Pay
$18.95 - $21.32 per hour.
