About the Role

The selected applicant will be responsible for the protection, security, and safety of all personnel and company assets at the Mentor facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access control systems for all employees and guests, verify credentials, and issue temporary I.D. badges.
• Monitor all fire and alarm systems for the corporate office, Mentor facility, various sales offices, and Distribution Centers.
• Act as the company’s emergency response center (911: 2222 / 6222) and Incident Command emergency dispatch center for critical incidents.
• Dispatch Emergency Response Team Members (ETMs) for emergency response on critical incidents.
• Coordinate with local police and fire departments for critical incident emergency response.
• Patrol property, enforce parking guidelines, monitor surveillance equipment, and inspect buildings.
• Cover the truck entrance during vacations and call-offs: inspect vehicles entering restricted areas, verify shipping and receiving papers, assign proper docks, issue gate passes, and scale raw material and scrap.
• Monitor railroad traffic entering and exiting the property.
• Ensure the overall safety and security of company employees, guests, and assets.
• Interpret and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Represent the company professionally to all guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Security.
• Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the RISE Strategy.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of security experience is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Highly motivated, quick learner, quality-conscious, and able to take ownership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to act calmly and decisively under stressful conditions.
• Able to work well with people at all levels of the company.
• Able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
• Able to walk up to two miles per shift and climb steps.
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Schedule

Irregular work schedule required, including rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.
