Security Guard

This position is responsible for the security of the main campus buildings and parking lots.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff during evening hours of operation at the Kokomo campuses.
• Maintain order and assure adherence to parking lot rules.
• Ensure all buildings are locked and alarms are set at routine closing of buildings at night.
• Routinely check the perimeter of all buildings to confirm all doors are locked properly after closing.
• Patrol buildings and parking lots to resolve problems and provide assistance as needed.
• Provide assistance to students or staff as needed.
• Transport funds from the business office to the bank as required.
• Provide security for special College-sponsored events as required.
• Respond to emergency assistance calls when needed.
• Demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by students and employees, ensuring every individual feels respected and valued.
• Perform other duties logically associated with this position as assigned.
• Conduct all responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a security guard required.
• Two years of related work experience preferred.
• Law enforcement experience preferred.
