About the role
As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for visitors and employees. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate professionally with the public and site personnel, and deliver outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and public officials by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government facility.
- Monitor access points, screen or verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and coordinating with emergency responders when needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned government buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observed conditions, and maintain required documentation in accordance with site policies.
Requirements
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Pay
$16.25 / Hour
Schedule
- Day shift: Saturday 07:30 AM - 07:30 PM
- Day shift: Sunday 07:30 AM - 07:30 PM
