About the Role

As a Security Guard Checkpoint Control in Middletown, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by screening personnel, visitors, and/or materials in accordance with site procedures. You will remain attentive, communicate professionally, help identify potential security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, packages, and authorized items entering designated areas in accordance with established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, shipping documentation, and authorization for entry into controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting observations to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including loading docks, trailer yards, and the facility perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
