About the role

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the security of a high-profile client’s facility, property, and surrounding campus for a designated shift. They perform general security duties as directed in the protection of persons and property, enforce all applicable policies, rules, and regulations as specified in post orders, and deter criminal activity and misconduct.

Responsibilities

  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
  • Cross-train officers to improve versatility and site efficiency
  • Make productivity and cost-reduction recommendations to management
  • Recommend physical security surveys and post-order updates
  • Recommend positive and negative personnel actions for direct reports
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers assigned to the shift
  • Ensure contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel are met
  • Maintain overtime at a minimum or predefined level
  • Regularly inspect security personnel and job performance to ensure quality of service and contract compliance
  • Perform related operations functions (e.g., payroll, incident report review, security surveys, post orders)

Requirements

  • Active California Guard Card
  • Active state driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience
  • At least one year of security experience
  • Intermediate to advanced technology skills
  • Level 1 Certificate (Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force Certificate)
  • Use of personal electronic devices while on duty is prohibited

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • One or more of the following:
    • Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline
    • Service in the active-duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
    • Minimum of one year of verifiable and successful security experience
    • Minimum of two years of verifiable work experience demonstrating:
      • Excellent customer service skills
      • Ability to maintain poise and self-control during emergencies
      • Capability to understand and apply written and verbal orders, and compose reports
      • Effective oral and written communication skills
      • Planning and organizing skills
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
      • Problem-solving skills
      • Coaching, mentoring, and motivating skills
      • Active listening skills
      • Ability to encourage effective teamwork
      • Skills in assessing and evaluating situations effectively
      • Ability to synthesize facts, concepts, and principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Emergency Management Systems
  • FEMA Incident Command Certification (ICO 100, 200, 300)
  • Working knowledge of EMS protocols, Medical First Responder, or Emergency Medical Technician

Pay

$24.00 / hour

Schedule

Swing shift: Tuesday – Saturday, 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM
