Job Summary
HOB Entertainment, a division of Live Nation Entertainment, operates several club venues across the United States. These venues feature a variety of musical genres, including Rock, Hip Hop, Country, Rock en Español, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, and Pop. Known for their southern-style cuisine, juke-joint inspired atmosphere, and the World Famous Gospel Brunch, House of Blues Venues have been serving the community since Thanksgiving Day 1992. The International House of Blues Foundation supports the community through various initiatives.
About the role
Maintain the safety and security of all staff, artists, vendors, and guests. Create and maintain a positive and uplifting experience for diverse groups of individuals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure guest safety through proactive personal interaction and removing hazards in the area of responsibility
- Prevent and resolve altercations among guests
- Lead guests and other employees in emergency evacuation procedures and provide assistance
- Check identification of any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age who is drinking alcoholic beverages inside the venue
- Enforce House policy regarding photos/videos/recording devices
- Safeguard against theft and property damage
- Communicate clearly using radios, hand signals, and flashlights. Remain in constant contact throughout the shift
- Set up area before opening (stanchions, table configuring, etc.)
- Keep interior and exterior of the venue clear and safe, cleaning spills and removing food, trash or other obstacles, before, during and after the shift
Qualifications
- Required: CA Guard Card
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
- Ability to work late hours
- Flexible schedule
- 3 years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
- Read, write and speak English fluently
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
- Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
Preferred
- Bi-lingual
- Cash handling experience
- Experience recognizing valid ID’s
- Experience in a live music environment
- Self defense training
- Experience using metal detection equipment
- EMT or other medical background
Physical Demands/Working Environment
- Working environment is fast-paced, often loud and stressful
- Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
Pay
The expected compensation for this position is $17.75 USD - $20.00 USD hourly. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
