Security Dispatcher - Security (Nights)

About the role

The Security Dispatcher is responsible for the effective and efficient handling of requests for Security assistance for all Tanner facilities and the accurate and concise documentation of security responses. The work is performed in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multi-task and prioritize work is crucial in the accomplishment of work tasks. Work tasks include the processing of emergency and security calls. The job must be performed with the highest regard for professionalism, confidentiality, speed, and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process emergency and security calls
• Gather and document detailed information accurately and concisely
• Think quickly and clearly under stressful situations, establishing priorities and passing on information as needed
• React logically to unusual situations and make swift decisions to facilitate effective communication during emergencies
• Communicate effectively with hospital personnel, patients, and outside callers
• Maintain a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
• Actively contribute to process improvements
• Share information and keep others properly informed
• Give and receive useful feedback

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months of medical/public safety dispatch experience or one year of high call volume experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Clear and distinct speaking voice
• Critical thinking skills and good judgment under pressure
• Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions
• Strong interpersonal skills and a service-minded attitude
• Excellent spelling and grammar
• Ability to work shift work, including weekends, holidays, and extended shifts (shifts subject to change with or without notice)
