Security Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provides daily scheduled runs, observes activity and traffic in assigned areas, and notes observations in the communications log.
• Supports clients with the check-in process, monitoring, assessing behavior, and overall well-being.
• Utilizes the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise Systems (CARES) to complete Intake Check-in, Discharge Conditional Intake.
• Supports clients during morning wake-up, conducts safety checks, assists with scheduled evacuation/fire drills, escorts individuals to specified locations, and handles crisis interventions.
• Makes safety checks of clients staying in the facility due to illness and mobility issues.
• Makes daily searches of client lockers and monitors and authorizes entrance and departure at the site.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
• One (1) year experience of Security Guard/Officer preferred.
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
