Responsibilities
- Provides daily scheduled runs, observes activity and traffic in assigned areas, and notes observations in the communications log.
- Supports clients with the check-in process, monitoring, assessing behavior, and overall well-being.
- Utilizes the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise Systems (CARES) to complete Intake Check-in, Discharge Conditional Intake.
- Supports clients during morning wake-up, conducts safety checks, assists with scheduled evacuation/fire drills, and escorts individuals to specified locations within the site.
- Handles crisis interventions with clients as needed, including diffusing physical altercations.
- Makes daily searches of client lockers and monitors and authorizes entrance and departure at the site.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
- One (1) year experience of Security Guard/Officer preferred.
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
