About the role
This position is for a Security Command Center (SCC) Assistant Manager responsible for managing all day-to-day operations and personnel assigned to the Security Command Centers in Newark, NJ and Moorestown, NJ.
Schedule
Full time, Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Pay
$37.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of day-to-day operations of the Security Command Centers in Newark, NJ and Moorestown, NJ.
- Be on call after hours on a rotating basis to support SCC operations and Business Assurance & Resilience (CS&P) needs.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities for access control and Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) systems with outsourced security integrators and internal resources.
- Review subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
- Ensure all shifts are staffed with qualified personnel.
- Supervise training programs that enhance duties, responsibilities, and conduct operator performance.
- Assist the SCC Manager in planning security operations to safeguard premises and employees against unauthorized entry, fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and criminal activities.
- Resolve problems and/or conflicts and maintain open communication with CS&P management, including providing regular written and oral reports.
- Continuously review existing and new security procedures to ensure appropriate control and monitoring features to minimize risks.
- Prepare required daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports for submittal to Company representatives.
- Establish process performance metrics; track, analyze, and report performance in terms of quality, safety, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain flexibility in shift assignments to ensure job responsibilities are completed.
- Provide additional services as defined by Company’s authorized personnel.
- Support internal investigative processes, including the preparation of access control records and CCTV recordings.
- Assure maintenance of regulatory compliance for regulations including NERC CIP.
- Aid in ensuring zero undetected breaches of company property monitored by the Security Command Center.
- Ensure operators are alert and fit to perform duty by periodically monitoring live video of the Security Command Center.
Systems Administration and Support
- AMAG NERC Access Control: Consult on area setup and configuration, including implementation of access control lists; assist with the configuration and routing of alarms; assist with pre-implementation, acceptance, commissioning, implementation, and functionality testing.
- Dataminr External Situational Awareness Tool: Maintain lists of facilities monitored by Dataminr; manage alert perimeters for each facility; develop and manage alert profiles.
- AMAG/Symmetry Access Control Integration System: Perform pre-implementation, acceptance, commissioning, implementation, and functionality testing as needed; develop new procedures and review/update existing procedures; coordinate remediation with internal and external partners.
Regulatory Compliance
- Organize and compile records required to ensure auditable compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform audit tasks as requested by CS&P and other internal entities.
- Develop methods to extract data from the access control system to support audit processes.
- Ensure Security Command Center Operators are familiar with regulatory requirements and how they relate to their day-to-day duties.
- Manage activities of the SCC and ensure timely and accurate reporting of data related to Company programs for compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Perform administrative functions to support Continuum Access Control System, CCTV applications, Genetec, Visitor Management, Everbridge, and the Dataminr Situation Awareness Tool.
- Support SC&P and company-wide efforts to ensure compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Critical Infrastructure Program (NERC CIP).
- Assist with the development and periodic review of business processes and procedures related to NERC Compliance.
- Participate in SC&P Change Management Committee meetings in the absence of the SCC Manager.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Standard computer/technology skills needed.
- Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner.
- Ability to conduct patrols throughout shift.
- Great attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout shift.
- Previous security experience highly preferred.
- Active NJ SORA license or the ability to obtain one, valid driver’s license, and open availability required.
Skills and Competencies
- Extensive prior operations experience with guard force operations and/or security command centers.
- Extensive previous managerial experience with security command centers.
- Specialized training and computer skills to utilize Security Command Center Access Control, Video, Overlay (Physical Security Information Management (PSIM)), Intercom, and Radio Systems on a 24/7 basis at two different locations.
