SECURITY ATTENDANT II STIU/MDH POLICE

Main Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to receive direction from police officers and assist the unit as needed. This position will, as directed, implement crime scene procedures, evidence retention, and complete comprehensive investigative reports. This position will also liaise with STIU Maryland Certified Police Officers/Supervisors and the Maryland State Police, to comply MOU regarding criminal investigations at MDH facilities.

About the Role

This position requires good writing and oral communication skills. Additionally, this position will be mandated to work various extra duty assignments (medical, hospital, court, etc.) as needed for the good of the Agency.

Responsibilities

• Receive direction from police officers and assist the unit as needed.
• Implement crime scene procedures, evidence retention, and complete comprehensive investigative reports.
• Liaise with STIU Maryland Certified Police Officers/Supervisors and the Maryland State Police, to comply MOU regarding criminal investigations at MDH facilities.
• Work various extra duty assignments (medical, hospital, court, etc.) as needed for the good of the Agency.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or high school equivalency certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Correctional Training Commission regulation.
• Experience: One year of experience providing security to patients, or inmates or youths committed by courts to psychiatric hospitals, correctional facilities or juvenile detention centers.

Special Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Completed background investigation.
• Oral interview.
• Physical examination.
• Mandatory correctional officer training.
