Security and Safety Analyst
What You Will Do
GFT is seeking a Security and Safety Analyst to join their team in Northern California. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at their office.
- Provides project assistance for a wide variety of projects, related to safety, security, emergency and continuity planning, and regulation compliance in these areas.
- Supports preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and resilience initiatives through research, planning, analysis, stakeholder coordination, and operational support activities.
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of Emergency Operations Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, hazard mitigation plans, and emergency procedures.
- Supports emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience initiatives for public and private clients.
- Conducts risk assessments, hazard analyses, capability assessments, and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Prepares basic and technical analysis, outlines, technical specifications, studies, plans, and reports, and provides support of broader security and safety activities.
- Performs research and prepares routine and moderately complex technical reports or report sections.
- Covers training programs, tabletop exercises, drills, and functional exercises consistent with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program guidance.
- Prepares After-Action Reports and Improvement Plans following incidents and exercises.
- Interfaces with clients, public agencies, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to gather information and support project objectives.
- Maintains monitoring of emergency management regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
What You Will Bring To Our Firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration, Public Safety, or a related field, required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in emergency management, disaster preparedness, homeland security, public safety, or related programs.
- FEMA ICS and NIMS coursework required.
- Knowledge of emergency management principles, FEMA frameworks, SEMS/NIMS requirements, continuity planning, and preparedness programs.
- Experience supporting emergency operations, incident response, recovery efforts, and preparedness initiatives.
- Able to independently manage workload, prioritize assignments, and meet project deadlines.
- Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Able to communicate effectively with clients, agencies, executives, and technical staff.
- Expected to produce professional-quality work products with minimal supervision.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
