About the role
The City of Grand Junction is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative professional to support the City's workers' compensation, property liability, and risk management programs. As the Risk and Safety Analyst, you will process and investigate claims, analyze trends, conduct safety inspections, provide training, and support strategies that reduce risk, control costs, and promote a culture of safety.
Responsibilities
- Administer claims management activities and assist in managing the City's risk portfolio.
- Analyze claims and safety data, identify trends, and assist in developing strategies to reduce risk, control costs, and strengthen the City's safety culture.
- Monitor progress on claims and risk initiatives to ensure recommendations translate into measurable improvement.
- Conduct incident and claims investigations, including root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of safety programs, policies, and training.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, analytical skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in safety or risk management and/or claims management.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in occupational safety, risk management, or a related field.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
