About the role
The Security Access Control Technician implements and supports the NOG-B Local, Corporate and DOE facility Access Control Security requirements in accordance with applicable Federal regulations, Orders, Manuals and associated directives.
Responsibilities
- Interacts professionally with employees, visitors, sponsors, regulators and customers
- Process, maintain, and understanding of security functions such as: Foreign Travel and other security reporting requirements; Vehicle parking records; Security policy and procedures
- Maintains administrative knowledge of the NBIS, CPCI, and clearance systems
- Provides support to personnel required to submit the electronic Security Questionnaire for initial and re-investigation clearance requests
- Assists in tracking and status of security clearance applicants and clearance support
- Maintains administrative knowledge of the Symmetry Access Control System
- Provides physical support to departments required to maintain the access control infrastructure
- Assists with the access denial and access reactivation processes to include database maintenance
- Assists with site badging process to include taking photos, creating/issuing new or replacement badges, and enrolling badge holders into the Security Access Control System
- Maintains administrative knowledge of the Security Information Management System (SIMS)
- Assists with incoming and outgoing cleared and un-cleared visit requests
- Assists with creation and maintaining of personnel security profile/records
- Assists with creation and maintaining of document, vault, lock & key records
- Maintains administrative knowledge of the Axis Camera Monitoring System
- Provides physical support to departments required to maintain the Camera Monitoring System infrastructure
- Assists with camera monitoring setup and database maintenance
- Assist with and conduct Facility Security Training required for ongoing site access: New Hire Security Orientation, Clearance Briefing, Security Refresher, and other security related training programs as needed
- Prepares site security plans for foreign visitors and manages on-site foreign national visitors
- Participant of OPEX and other Corporate Security related security programs/initiatives
- Member of the Human Reliability Security Program (HRP)
- Prepares and participates in government security audits and self-audits
- Additional Security related projects/duties at the discretion of the NOG-B Security Manager
Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Associate degree preferred
- Must possess at least five (3-5) years of experience with NOG-B Security or in a related discipline
- Must have demonstrable skills and be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and must be able to effectively implement new software and applications as needed
- Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance

$55,000 - $88,000
