Access Control & Security Systems Technician

About the role

This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an experienced Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone with 2+ years of low-voltage experience and hands-on commercial access control/security installation experience who can complete quality work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot problems in the field, and take ownership of the job.

What you’ll do

• Independently install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems throughout the Raleigh-Durham area and Southeast, including:
• Electronic access control systems
• Card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks and electrified door hardware
• REX devices, door contacts, motion sensors and push buttons
• Control panels and power supplies
• Low-voltage cabling, termination, labeling and testing
• IP surveillance cameras and NVRs
• Intercom and visitor management systems
• Intrusion detection systems
• Structured cabling as needed
• Read blueprints and installation drawings
• Troubleshoot installation and system issues
• Test completed installations and correct punch-list items
• Complete accurate job and closeout documentation
• Assist senior technicians and mentor Installer I team members as skills and leadership abilities grow

What you need

• 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience
• Hands-on commercial access control installation experience
• Commercial security system installation experience
• Ability to read construction drawings
• Basic networking knowledge
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing

Experience that gets our attention

• Experience or manufacturer certifications involving Mercury, HID, ASSA ABLOY, Allegion, BadgePass, Entrust, Avigilon Alta/Openpath, Genetec, LenelS2, CCURE, Verkada, Axis, Milestone, Hanwha, Cisco or PoE networking
• Manufacturer certifications are highly valued
