Security / Access Control - Installation Technician (MA)

Duties
- Install, test, and commission commercial security systems
- Roughing in, terminating, and testing copper cabling
- Fiber termination experience is a plus
- Servicing/troubleshooting network cabling in a commercial environment
- Installing pathway supports such as j hooks and ladder trays
- Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures
- Installing security related equipment for commercial industries, including installing, testing, and commissioning door hardware & camera systems
- Willingness to travel to national job sites as needed
Skills
- Strong understanding of computer networking principles related to security systems and remote access software
- Mechanical knowledge for installing hardware components such as sensors, locks, CCTV cameras, and alarm devices
- Experience working as a service technician in security or telecommunication fields with a focus on low voltage systems
- Knowledge of security system components including CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms (fire alarm systems), IDS devices, surveillance equipment, and locksmithing basics
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Manufacturer certifications or AV/fiber experience a plus
